Personal Statement

- Doctor, graduated in 1981. Specialist and Senior Consultant in Internal Medicine. Expertise in Cardiovascular Risk, Obesity and Nutrition, organisation and coordination of health services, health informatic and telemedicine.

 

- With more than 40 years of experience in clinical practice (inpatients, outpatient, emergency department and intensive care unit).

 

- In addition to Internal Medicine speciality, he also has specific training in obesity, nutrition, cardiovascular risk and echocardiography.

 

 - From 21 years old, he had developed several management activities, that can be highlighted: member of the Board and of the Executive Committee of the Governing Board of the Nova Medical School; President of the Students Association; Director of the Medicine Department; President of the Commission of Therapeutic; Coordinator of the Intensive Care Unit;

 

- He is author and co-author of several scientific papers, related with the organisation and operation of Intensive Care Units and with the knowledge representation, natural controlled language and biomedical ontologies.

 

- He participated as an investigator and co-investigator in several national and international multicentre scientific trials and was the national coordinator for a couple of them.
